Diagnostic Licenses and Custom Kits
Rubicon owns the rights to commercialize its WGA, WTA, and WMA products for human, animal, and plant diagnostics. This includes both using the kits to amplify patient nucleic acids during testing, as well as amplification of non-patient DNA during manufacture of the diagnostic test.
Using Rubicon products during diagnostic testing
Rubicon kits are used to amplify the total DNA, RNA, or methylated DNA before testing for specific analytes using Q-PCR, microarrays, or other assays. WGA, WTA, and WMA can enable existing diagnostic tests to be:
- More sensitive—by allowing smaller tissue or fluid samples to be tested
- More robust—by producing more copies of limited analytes so they can be quantified more accurately
- More powerful—by enabling multiple analytes to be tested from the same clinical sample, e.g., microarrays and multiple Q-PCR assays
Using Rubicon products during manufacturing
Whenever DNA from non-patient DNA is used to manufacture a diagnostic test, Rubicon can amplify the DNA reagent to give you:
- A less expensive test—by eliminating needs to culture bacteria, viruses, or cells
- A more specific test—by enabling the DNA reagent to have higher purity
- A more reproducible test—by replacing biological with biochemical amplification
