Fred G. Beyerlein

President and CEO

Mr. Beyerlein serves as President and Chief Executive Officer at Rubicon Genomics. Mr. Beyerlein has extensive experience in the pharmaceutical, fine chemical, biotechnology and advanced materials industries with expertise in market development, license structures, commercial technology identification, strategic plan development, acquisitions and divestitures. Prior to joining Rubicon, Mr. Beyerlein held the positions of Chief Operating Officer and Director of Sales and Marketing at NSC Technologies Mr. Beyerlein has held senior management positions at Advanced Resin (CEO), Sandaro Industries (COO/CFO), and the Hexcel Corporation (VP, Chemicals & Resins Division) demonstrating his extensive operational, sales, marketing, and financial experience in both domestic and international situations. Fred received his MBA in Economics and Finance from Fordham University.

John P. Langmore, Ph.D.

Co-Founder and Vice President of Commercial Development

Dr. Langmore is a co-founder of Rubicon Genomics and serves as Vice President of Commercial Development. Dr. Langmore is co-inventor of the core technology of Rubicon Genomics and is currently responsible for the development of commercial partnerships and academic collaborations, as well as reagent sales and licensing. Prior to forming Rubicon, Dr. Langmore was a Professor in the Department of Biology and Research Scientist in the Biophysics Research Division at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Dr. Langmore’s research was in biochemical and microscopy studies of DNA and DNA-protein complexes while at the Medical Research Council Laboratory of Molecular Biology in Cambridge, England, and at the University of Michigan. During his tenure as Chair of the Biophysics Research Division at the University of Michigan, he oversaw dramatic expansion of the physical space, faculty, and graduate program. He has served as a member of National Science Foundation, American Cancer Society, and NIH peer review panels, and has over 40 publications. Dr. Langmore received his Ph.D. from the University of Chicago.

Vladimir Makarov, Ph.D.

Co-Founder and Chief Scientific Officer

Dr. Makarov is a co-founder of Rubicon Genomics and Chief Scientific Officer. Dr. Makarov is co-inventor of the core technology of Rubicon Genomics and is currently leading the R&D team at Rubicon. Dr. Makarov has held research positions at the Engelhardt Institute of Molecular Biology at the USSR Academy of Science, and most recently at the Biophysics Research Division at the University of Michigan. Dr. Makarov is a scientist with broad expertise in different fields including solid state physics and optics, biophysics of DNA and DNA-protein complexes, chromatin structure, and DNA and protein enzymology. His recent contributions to genomics include new DNA sequencing and amplification techniques. He is an inventor on 5 University of Michigan patent applications and has over 50 scientific publications. Dr. Makarov has a Ph.D. in Physics and Mathematics from Leningrad State University.

Linda Thompson, C.P.A

Vice President, Finance & Administration

Mrs. Thompson joined Rubicon Genomics from Vector Research, an information technology services company, where she provided extensive guidance on company operational issues. As the Company's Controller, Mrs. Thompson was responsible for managing and revamping the accounting and financial departments during a period of fast-paced growth that exceeded 20% annually over a five-year span. During her tenure, she was an integral part of Vector's annual budget preparations, tracking, and reporting programs. Prior to Vector, Mrs. Thompson was a Senior Auditor at the Defense Contract Audit Agency. She reviewed over 200 large and small federal government contractors throughout the state of Michigan, and provided operational guidance and negotiation support. Mrs. Thompson received her Bachelors of Business Administration from the Eastern Michigan University.
